the missed train

We just got back from our New York City visit. It was the first time I ventured the subway system without a fellow New Yorker to lead the way. We made it from the tip of Brooklyn to the American Museum of Natural History
in Manhattan, but missed one stop along the way. I missed the connection for the C train, so we decided to walk down 5th Ave and through Central Park to the museum. I look this picture along the way.

kitties

A friend emailed me this sweet, precious picture of a sleeping kitty. It looks so comfy. I think I'll take a nap.

Pictures

I went to my first PhotoShop class today through the community education program in our town. We learned so much in one day, I can't wait for all the other classes! And, I can't wait to start actually editing pictures and making pictures!!

February bags

After taking a little break in Janurary, I feel more productive now. The beccabags petite line for February is up at Cute Little Dot. This episode of the dot story is winding up too. I'm thinking of writing the next dot story about a frog, a fly, and boy named Phineas. (I just found this cool site when I was trying to figure out how to spell Phineas!) Now to work on my next project!!

Vincent

Sometimes I wish I could bike around town like they are doing in this picture by Vincent Mathy. Last time I visited Montreal, people were riding their bikes everywhere. It is good exercise, you can't buy too many things, cheap transportation, . . . the grass is always greener.

Majeak Ann

I love the pink and the wonderful little world pictured here by Majeak Ann. I want to visit this place.

I saw these today at Cecile Bon Bon. She has the cutest one inch buttons pictured in her blog, now only if I could read the French to see if they are for sale!

color

This beautiful flower picture is from Savvy Seams. Other colorful sites to remember are Veer for wallpaper, Eyes on Design for Photo Shop, and Color Mixers for just that right shade.

Sarah

This is just too cute!! I bought gift tags at Christmas made from Sarah at The Small Object with this little character of hers. They are just so precious, and the packaging is just plain

ruffle messenger

This ruffled messenger bag is on its way to a very patient customer. I got a little burnt out during/after the holidays, so finally this bag is done!

Javier

This is my find on the internet today. It is by Javier Gonzalez Burgos. This looks like a girl on top of the world.

felt dolls

I had a picture of a felt mouse ornament here, but the picture was terrible. I need to learn how to take/edit better pictures. I enrolled in a community class to learn how to use PhotoShop. Hopefully my scheduling will work out, and I'll be able to go to all the classes. My fingers are crossed!
These are some of my favorite sewn felt dolls-- bagel47, Happy Dolls, molly chicken, and jamfancy.

looms

While visiting for Christmas, my dad brought a trunk of things that I had saved. I found some looms that my friend, Amy's dad made for us. We used to send hours making hot pads with these looms. Today I made another one. It was interesting to me that all the things I saved in that trunk are still things that interest and drive me today.

magazines

Happy New Year!! This is a bag I made last year, well two years ago now. It is so pretty. I hope the person who has it, loves it! Reminiscing . . .
We went to the library today, and I checked out some magazines from a few years ago. I don't like the way magazines pile up in clutter when I subscribe to them. Though, I am thinking of subscribing to this one, Craft Business Magazine. I saw it on Amy Peter's Studio Blog. If you have read this magazine, what do you think?

Check this out -- a water powered alarm clock! This is on my wish list!

Hopefully by the end of this day the December beccabags will be up! I tried cell bags, thanks to an idea from Marie. They are fun to make and cute, cute, cute!!
Only two more bags events before the end of the year and a list of custom bags to make -- no more sleeping for me, only sewing!

I'm finishing up some carry-all book bags with the fall colors. I don't want summer to end though. I have a few more warm weather, colorful bags to make before the cool fall breezes arrive.

This is my first project on my new sewing machine! It is a pleated bag. I walked into the Bernina store just to see what they had . . . and the sales pitch got me! Sales people see me a mile away, sad but true. But I do love my new machine!!
